I use a Microsoft Surface Pro to create unique, one-of-a-kind pieces of graphic art. My style is highly influenced by Art Deco, Americana, primitive art, and pop culture. I love bright, bold colors and outlines. As an avid enthusiast of America's Parks system, I get most of my inspiration from nature.
High Altitude Daisies at Grand Tetons, National Park. I visited in June-July. The meadows were covered in flowers. The flowers playful motions were a sharp contrast to the surrounding rugged mountains.
Grand Tetons as seen from my cabin next to the Grand Tetons Lodge
A pine branch hangs over the Grand Canyon in Grand Canyon, National Park
Alluvial Fan in Death Valley, National Park. An alluvial fan is eroded rocks and sand sliding down between two mountains in the desert. I saw a big horn sheep clinging to a rock wall in Lake Mead National Recreation Area and thought he added to this drawing.
The silhouette of a girl practicing yoga on the rocks in Red Rock National Monument. My friend, Alissa's daughter was inspiration for this drawing.
Condor soaring over the Colorado River in Glenn Canyon just outside of Grand Canyon National Park. I saw this condor as my husband and I floated down the river on a raft. The water was crystal clear and like a mirror of the canyon walls on either side.
A Branch of Pine Cones on a Bench in Devil's Millhopper State Geological Park, Gainesville, FL.
A buffalo grazing in a pasture in Wind Cave National Park, South Dakota. There was also a prairie dog in the field.
The Mittens in Monument Valley.
I drew the Eagle Kachina from the sculpture hanging over the fireplace in the Monument Valley Hotel. I took the photograph of the valley from my hotel room balcony. I super-imposed the drawing over the photograph and got quite a dramatic picture. The frame pattern is from the pattern on the bedspread in the hotel room.
In Monument Valley, there is a cave with petroglyphs on the back wall. This is my impression of the petroglyph on the red sandstone wall of the cave. The hooves of the big horn sheep are strange, don't you agree? What do you think they mean?
A buffalo grazing and an eagle flying over Old Faithful as it erupts in Yellowstone National Park.
A coyote navigates a street in Las Vegas, NV.
Rainstorm in the desert. I was inspired by a very strange rainstorm I witnessed as we were driving across the long prairie from the Grand Canyon National Park back to I-40. It was a single cloud that looked like it never moved. Heat lightning lit up the inside of the cloud. It was the only cloud in the sky that day. I did this drawing in an art deco/art nouveau style.
This is an impressionistic drawing I made of the Rocky Mountains. I included all of the things that made an impression on me- bubbling streams lined with rocks, lodgepole pines, bright flowers like the dunce cap larkspur, jagged mountains, and quaking aspen.
This is a drawing inspired by a steer residing in Pipe Springs National Monument. He had one crazy twisted horn and one straight one.
This is a picture of a Little Blue Heron at Sweetwater Reclamation City Park on Payne's Prairie in Gainesville, FL. Beautiful birds.
This is a drawing of a photograph I saw of a sandhill crane. We have many of these beautiful birds in Gainesville. FL. This piece of digital art won the 2023 Alachua County Library Summer Series Art Competition in the graphic art category.
Come see me on Feb. 1st, 2025. The Sunshine State Book Festival will be at the Best Western Gateway Grand Hotel in Gainesville, FL.
